Practice philosophy

I believe in a collaborative, empowering, and positive approach to help you reach your potential and lead a more fulfilling life.

Initial steps

The first step is to contact me for a 10-15 minute phone call. This will allows us to get acquainted, discuss your goals, and address any questions you might have. If appropriate, we will then schedule an initial consultation, which generally requires multiple sessions. During this consultation, I will perform a comprehensive evaluation of your mental health and, if indicated, a diagnostic assessment. Through the process of shared decision making, we will develop a tailored plan that may include psychotherapy, medications, laboratory testing, lifestyle changes, and referrals to other practitioners or resources. My goal is to help you find the most suitable treatment option for ongoing care, whether that is in my practice or elsewhere.

Psychotherapy

In order to provide effective psychotherapy, it is first essential to understand your preferences and needs. My approach uses psychodynamic psychotherapy and targeted forms of cognitive-behavioral therapy as needed, to offer treatment tailored for you.

Medication management

While my practice primarily focuses on psychotherapy, I also provide medication management services when indicated. I provide individualized, evidence-based psychiatric prescribing, which includes ongoing evaluations to assess treatment efficacy. Additionally, I focus on de-prescribing when this is indicated.

Mindfulness-informed psychiatry

I appreciate the immense potential of mindfulness as a tool for stress reduction and overall mental well-being. I can help you in developing a mindfulness practice that suits your lifestyle, helping you stay present, cultivate self-awareness, and make intentional choices when faced with stress.

Consultations and second opinions

I perform comprehensive mental health assessments, including diagnostic evaluations, history-taking, and structured mental status examinations. These assessments are typically conducted during the initial consultation but can also be carried out for other purposes, such as obtaining a second opinion.

Telemedicine appointments

At this time, I exclusively offer telemedicine appointments via a secure video platform, allowing for convenient, private, and comfortable access to care. I offer weekday evening appointments after 5 pm PT.

Fee schedule

I am currently an out-of-network provider, which means I am not directly affiliated with any insurance plans, nor do I accept Medicare or Medicaid. For my current fee schedule, please contact me. For patients with out-of-network benefits, I can supply a superbill for reimbursement. If this is of interest to you, please consult your insurance provider for additional information about your out-of-network benefits.
